Membrillo con Queso - Quince Paste with Cheese

Friday July 13, 2007

Membrillo

Quince, or in Spanish membrillo is a fruit that has been cultivated since ancient times in Babylonia. During the Roman Empire, in what is today Spain, membrillo was already being made into a firm jelly or paste and sent back to Rome. Today, the Spanish eat the delicious dulce de membrillo or quince paste with bread and cheese for a light dessert or breakfast.
