Vibrant Rioja Wines Hit the Runway...

Mercedes-Benz Fashion week ended earlier this week in New York City and Rioja wines were the Week’s official wine. Every afternoon and on through the evening, Rioja wines were served. Brands that were represented include Marques de Riscal, Bodegas Faustino, Bodegas Montecillo, Campo Viejo, Conde de Valdemar, Sierra Cantabria and El Coto.

Rioja Wines are some of Spain’s best and most famous wines from the Rioja region in Northern Spain. It is also where the Batalla del Vino or "Wine Battle" happens each June. This past week however, there were no battles, just super models wrapped in “vibrant red stripes” to represent the colors of Rioja. While fashionistas sipped wines from Rioja-embossed glasses, models pressed temporary tattoos on them that said, “Blame it on Rioja.”
