Rosquillos de Vino - Wine Ring Cookies

Rosquillos or "little rings" are a traditional cookie in Spain. Many Spanish make them at home because they are a simple, basic cookie. They are flavored with anise liqueur and white wine, although we use anise extract in our recipe. Often eaten accompanied by a glass of anise liqueur, they go well with a cup of hot tea or coffee for breakfast... or an afternoon snack. They really are a great addition to your Holiday sweets and you can enlist your kids to roll the dough to make the rings!

This is a good recipe. The anise is not to strong. It makes more than 3 dozen about 5 dozen. They taste great!

Also in Italy there are cookies like this, from Lazio, with anise seeds.
