Regional Valencia Food & Drink Exhibition 2008
Today through April 6th, two regional food and drink shows are being held in Valencia, where more than 100 exhibitors will take part. The 20th annual Mostra de Vins, Caves I Licors, in which wineries, official councils of the D.O. (Denomination of Origin) and liquor producers will exhibit their products and hold tastings. The 18th Valencian Mostra d’aliments tradicionals, or Traditional Food Show will also be held, where samples of regional traditional foods like rice will be exhibited and samples will be available of foods from the region, such as olive oil, chufas (tiger nuts), sausage, orange juice and cheese.
So, if you will be visiting the area this week, be sure to stop by the exhibitors booths, which are set up between the Calatrava and Flores bridges in Valencia. Wine-tasting courses will be taught by the Federación de Sumilleres de la Comunitat Valenciana, Federation Sommeliers of Valencia. Traditional dances from the Valencia region will also be performed for entertainment. The festivities will be broadcast on radio and television stations in Spain, including TVE, Tele 5, Antena 3.
