Montebaco 2006 Vendimia Seleccionada is a Spanish tempranillo, representative of the Denomination of Origin - Ribera del Duero. It is both powerful and flavorful, with a slightly mineral flavor. According to the Montebaco website, each vintage of the Vendimia Seleccionada is made to reflect the personality of the winery, and the producers do not "look for continuity between vintages, nor limit our wine to a fixed varietal percentage." We found this interesting, since most wineries strive to achieve continuity between vintages. This wine, like most Riberas will be enjoyable with roast beef or pork, especially in the coming Autumn and Winter months.
