Palmeras are scroll-like pastries that are sweet and flaky. Every pastry shop and supermarket in Spain carries them, and you'll see them at the breakfast table, or at merienda (afternoon snack). They are delicious dipped in hot coffee or Spanish hot chocolate. Our mini-palmeras are easy to make with puff pastry, a bit of butter and sugar. Prepare a batch for a party, brunch, dinner or afternoon snack.
Tip: Not looking for something sweet? Use garlic, rosemary or other spices to create a warm and flaky appetizer. Keep some puff pastry in the freezer to make these in a pinch. Don't forget that holiday parties are fast-approaching!
