This traditional Spanish sweet from Andalucia is of Arabic origin, and is absolutely delicious. Alfajores are made with ground almonds and hazelnuts, bread crumbs, sesame and anise seeds, cinnamon and clove, all bound together with warm honey. They are truly a delicacy.
But, wait! These don't look like alfajores you've seen? Alfajores in Latin America have developed over the centuries into sandwich-style cookies, which are filled with dulce de leche or another rich and creamy filling.
