These little home-made, breaded, fried fish balls are absolutely fabulous, and one of our favorites! If you want to try something new for the big game day, these are perfect. Re-hydrate salt cod and then mix it with green onion, garlic, lemon and egg. Cover in breadcrumbs and fry. Serve with alioli sauce (a sort of garlic mayonnaise) or sofrito (tomato sauce) for a tasty appetizer. Bolas de Bacalao are addictive, so be careful how many you sample, or they might not make it to the table!
Tip - Salt cod must be soaked overnight to leach out extra salt, so rinse and place cod in a bowl of water the day before you will prepare and eat them.
