Experience
Lisa is a California native, fluent in Spanish, who works as a translator and Spanish teacher in addition to freelance writing. She also gives lectures on Spanish cuisine and culture at local universities. After living in Spain for several years and traveling through the Spanish-speaking world, she settled back in the U.S. with Tony.
Tony is a native of Castilla, Spain, and has lived in California for more than 30 years. Tony spent much of his career consulting with restaurant startups and managing different types of restaurants both in Spain and the U.S.
Lisa and Tony Sierra started taking culinary tours to different regions of Spain in 2004. They walked the Camino de Santiago in 2010. Together, they enjoy cooking and eating their way through a different region of Spain every time they visit. Tony and Lisa also teach Spanish cooking classes in Northern California. Tony has been a presenter at the World Food Travel Association conference.
Education
Lisa Sierra has a master's degree in Spanish language and literature from California State University-Sacramento.
