Carne Gobernada - Asturian-Style Beef in White Wine Sauce
"Carne Gobernada" is a typical dish from Oviedo, capital of Asturias. It is a traditional main course, prepared by very slowly cooking the chunks of beef in onions and white wine until they are tender. Depending on the cut of beef, this might take as little as 40 minutes or as long as an hour, but the resulting dish is definitely worth the wait. Serve with fried potatoes to soak up the sauce.
Arroz al Horno - Oven-Baked Rice
Valencia is known for its many rice dishes, like paella, but there are many other mouth-watering rice dishes to enjoy, like arroz al horno. In English this dish can be called Oven-Baked Rice and is traditionally baked in a ceramic dish. Fideua - Noodle Paella
Valencia is "the land of rice" and dozens of different rice dishes, however "Fideua" is a very popular traditional main course similar to "paella." Cooked in a paella pan, it is made with noodles and seafood cooked in fish broth. "Fideua" is quicker and easier than making "paella," and is as colorful and flavorful as well, making it a perfect dish for warm weather.
Albondigas con Salsa de Perejil - Meatballs with Parsley Sauce
Meatballs in a simple, yet rich-tasting sauce made from beef broth, parsley and walnuts. What a great main course for any day of the week, regardless of the season!
