Making Tigres - Clean and Cook the Mussels

If you buy fresh mussels, make sure that the mussels have been brushed cleaned on the outside. Remove the barnacles, etc. If you buy frozen mussels, they should already be cleaned and the shells should be opened.

Pour water into a medium size pot and bring to a boil Place the mussels in the boiling water and cook 5-6 minutes, until the mussels are cooked. Pour out the water and run cold water into the pot to cool down the mussels.
